Clean in this order, top to bottom

Start high and finish at the door: ceilings and cobwebs, then windows inside and out, then walls for scuffs, then fixtures. Kitchens and bathrooms come last because they take longest — oven, hob, extractor filters, limescale on every tap, and grout lines brightened back to their original colour.

The misses that cost money are almost always the same: the inside of the oven, the top of the kitchen cabinets, window tracks, and the bathroom extractor grille. Agents check all four within the first five minutes.
